NATUROPATHY IS A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HEALTH CARE
Naturopathy is a form of natural medicine that encompasses the foundations of health (diet & lifestyle) with the goal of isolating the cause of a particular complaint.
Naturopathic principles are based on treating the individual, rather than the disease. No one condition will be treated the same, as the cause of this condition will vary from person to person. I often refer to myself as a ‘health detective’, as finding the cause(s) can often be a process of elimination whilst treating the whole body.
Both an art and a science
Naturopathy is both an art and a science and is well suited to any age group. We are working together to boost your body’s natural healing potential to improve your overall health and prevent disease onset.
Today’s naturopaths are trained in both scientific and traditional evidence.
We have many tools in our ‘tool box’, so to speak. This means naturopathic treatment can be used in conjunction with medical care where necessary.
The 6 Naturopathic Principles
- The Healing Power of Nature
Facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. - Identify and Treat the Causes
Search for and treat the underlying causes rather than supress symptoms. These causes may be physical, mental or emotional. - First Do No Harm
Utilize the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies. - Doctor as Teacher
Educate patients by encouraging and motivating them towards achieving and maintaining their health. - Treat the Whole Person
Treating the body holistically, taking into account each individuals mental, physical, emotional and environmental health factors. - Prevention
Focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention.
These naturopathic principles are the building blocks behind every consultation process.
